Yesterday and again today, I was fortunate enough to shatter my record for hits on this site. Then this morning, my Facebook page reached new heights with 962 fans. How am I feeling about that? Elated might be an understatement. Why so excited you ask? Well more people than ever are reading/watching/looking at the work I love to post. Since I’m not paid to do any of this, a captive audience and a growing support network are my only barometers for success.

With that said, I want you all to realize just how huge a little bit of support can be. Be it a blog about pizza, an amazingly talented band or an artist who creates 24/7, your interaction with them online creates an unbelievable opportunity and fuel their desire to continue working hard. Allow me to explain the far-reaching benefits a few simple clicks can provide for a person or business whose page you support…

• Like- It’s one simple click and requires no thought. Facebook’s new algorithm gives priority in the NewsFeeds to posts that people are talking about. Your Like is the difference between someone else seeing the post or it going to waste in cyberspace. Also, all interactions you have with a Page will appear in the newly added real-time ticker on the right hand side of Facebook. This helps spread the word about a brand to all your friends increasing the likelihood that they’ll connect with the page as well.
• Comment- Leaving your two cents helps in the same way a ‘Like’ does but it also helps cultivate conversation among other users within a thread. The domino effect of continuous conversation is infinitely beneficial to the page you’ve interacted with.
• Re-post- Whether you’re an artist or musician, you’re often times your own number one supporter. Constant self-promotion is the only way to ensure that your work is seen. If others could lend a helping hand in spreading the word, the person behind the page can focus more on creating quality content
• Recommend- Most Pages have a little section to the right that allows you to recommend that page to your friends. By doing this, you’re opening a whole new door for that person to find new supporters.
